Switch is labeled as offline on Sophos Central even though it is accessible via SSH

Hi,

I am encountering an issue that a switch is labled as "offline" on Sophos Central even though it is accessible via SSH. Does Sophos Central or your switch have this kind of known issue? Based on the kb article "">support.sophos.com/.../KB-000045349, I have done the following but the symptom is not resolved yet:

1. Disabled SNTP and enabled it again

configure terminal
sntp
set sntp client disabled
set sntp client enabled
exit
exitCode

2. Changed the SNTP server pointing from "pool.ntp.org" to "0.sophos.pool.ntp.org".

If you need further clarification on this, please let me know.

  • Were you able to find a solution to this? Seeing the same thing on one of our switches.

Central reports offline for a long period of time, the switch is working, GUI is accessible locally, SSH is accessible locally, can ping and resolve central.sophos.com so does not appear to be DNS related, and the firewall is allowing all traffic from the switch.

Have a second switch in the same network with the identical network config (DNS, gateway, and subnet) and its working just fine.
