Mal/Generic-S and Mal/JNLP-A

Sophos Home detected Mal/Generic-S and Mal/JNLP-A, but it failed to correct and now I can't repeat the scan and I can't reinstall (as it keeps telling me to).

Logged in in Safe Mode with full admin privileges, did full delete of all Sophos software, reinstall still failed.

Did system restore to date previous to malware detection ... still can't get Sophos out of the non-functional state.

Google Chrome now refuses to load and/or re-install as well.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Morris,

I would highly recommend you to Delete/Reinstall your PC!

    Regards - Meghan

  • Thanks for the reply Meghan.

I'd actually love to reinstall the thing (it keeps telling me I need to).

But according to my original post:

now I can't repeat the scan and I can't reinstall (as it keeps telling me to).

Logged in in Safe Mode with full admin privileges, did full delete of all Sophos software, reinstall still failed.

It would be great if there were an uninstall utility for Sophos Home that would take care of registry issues and remaining data bits from previous scans, etc.

    Grace and peace,

    Morris

    Hi Morris,

I think you've misunderstood me, I don't meant that you should reinstall the Sophos software, rather you shoud reinstall the Operating System!
