Clarification on quarantine settings and alias addresses

Recently customer noticed that for their aliases there were no quarantine digest generated.

The issue is that they expect the callout feature or AD to fetch the alias for the user to generate the quarantine digest.

However that is not the case, even when you add the alias in "smtp" and "SMTP" in proxyAddresses the quarantine digest will no be generated for the alias.

The only workaround is to edit the user directly on the Firewall and include the alias in there.

Example current user is "Test Benutzer" with the primary email "test.benutzer@l-mobile.com":

This user in the AD backend has the alias "test.mail1@l-mobile.com" added to it via proxyAddresses as described above.

However the quarantine digest only works when we add the alias in the email field like this:

Then the user will start receiving quarantine digest for the alias to their primary email.

This is not clearly stated in the documentation as per customer provided in Quarantine settings - Sophos Firewall

Customer thought it would use the alias from the AD backend or at least via the email callout / recipient verification feature.

This is currently not the case and need to be clarified better.

There is already a feature request in SFSW-I-1791:

But the documentation currently is not clear enough that only the "Email" field is being used to generate the quarantine digest which needs to be added.
