SOPHOS Server (application and Database) IP change problem

HI,
As per case ID 2721079 we have successfully changed (07-04-2011) mrinit.conf and replaced the old IP with new IP address for both SOPHOS Application and Database Server.

1. Clients can connect with both servers and can takes update.
2. mrinit.conf files remains unchanged with old IP address

3. repeated the same process again but error shows in output

4. ConfigCID.exe found in several places

(Application Server)

F:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console\SUMInstaller\Update Manager

F:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console\SUM

F:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console

(DB Server)

E:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console

E:\Program Files\Sophos\Update Manage

5. From 12-04-2011 clients (End Point Security 9.5) are not responding to dashboard.
6. SOPHOS Enterprise Console (4.5) can open.

Please help.

Thanks,

Shariar

  • Hello Shariar,

so you changed the IP of the management server but not its name? It's not totally clear from what you've said.

    1. Clients can connect with both servers and can takes update.

That's why I assume you didn't change the name as updating works

    2. mrinit.conf files remains unchanged with old IP address

Where is this mrinit.conf you've checked - on a client? Is the one in the CID's root (\CIDs\Snnn) correct and did you also put it in the \rms subfolder? That's where it should reside in order to be picked up by the clients. You did export/import the Certification Manager keys - didn't you?

    3. repeated the same process again but error shows in output

What was the exact process you're referring to - and what's the error you receive?

Please check the Network Communications Report on a Client and the ClientMRInit-<timestamp>.log from %Windir%\temp.
