Do the clients "think" they need a reboot (you should see this in the Updating Log)? Any new issues or just these about 100 (of how many). Can you identify a pattern (SEC group, update location, OS)? Oh, and which Sophos version?
Just asking 'cause under certain circumstances the message might be correct (an extreme example would be "frozen" clients with, say, 7.6.16 installed. Until now they've updated after reboot without a message but with 7.6.20 of course will be issued after every boot).
