Error 0000006d - Restart needed for updates to take effect

Hi, We have recently been recieving a number of error messages in Enterprise Console (About 100 Machines since yesterday) - Error 0000006d - Restart needed for updates to take effect. We have follwed the link in the console taking us to http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/31540.html and have followed the steps making a reg edit. We then rebooted the machines as instucted but the messages still appears in the console. We have also rebooted the server with the console on but to no avail Any Help would be appreciated Thanks Phil

  • Yuck!

Do the clients "think" they need a reboot (you should see this in the Updating Log)? Any new issues or just these about 100 (of how many). Can you identify a pattern (SEC group, update location, OS)? Oh, and which Sophos version?

Just asking 'cause under certain circumstances the message might be correct (an extreme example would be "frozen" clients with, say, 7.6.16 installed. Until now they've updated after reboot without a message but with 7.6.20 of course will be issued after every boot).
