Dedicated Server

Does Sophos Endpoint have to run on a dedicated server for an installation of 350-409 users?

  • Hello, it depends a little on what other roles the machine performs and how you install Sophos.

If you have a remote SQL server, that would lighten the load on the Sophos management server as you could use that to host the database.  This would save a SQL process and the associated memory and disk I/O that goes with that.

If you have a file server you could write the distribution points to that, such that the clients updating wouldn't load the server. Again saving disk I/O and network resources.

    Thanks,

    Jak
