Hi All,
I am trying to install the Sophos agent on a win2003 server (Workgroup) from a Sophos management server (Which is in a domain).
I am getting the error "The specified credentials are invalid" where i am using the Local administrator account.
On the username i tried "Administrator" , "Machinename\Administrator" and "Ipaddress\administrator" nothing worked.
Please let me know what other troubleshooting steps that i should follow for it to work.
Regards,
Chaba
Hello Chaba
searching this board for domain and workgroup currently yields three articles and searching for credentials and domain 14 (yours included). I suggest the following threads: Can Enterprise Console manage non domain computers? and Protect Computers from Enterprise Console 4 which should help you solving the problem.
And nitpicking: The subject sounds like an installation problem on the endpoint. Mentioning SEC and/or Protect Computers would have been clearer.

Hi,
is this a problem for one or few machines, or do you plan to do a large rollout onto servers? Since you don't seem to use a domain, I guess that you need a solution to fix one or few machines.
If you copy the directory \\<sophosserver>\SophosUpdate\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP onto the client-machine and execute the setup from there, you get a working first-time installation. Make sure that "Sophos Remote Manamagement System" is also installed - if not, you can add this by navigating into the subfolder "RMS" and double-clicking the .msi-file.
After this manual installation, the computer should be shown as connected in the Enterprise console and can be managed.
Best regards,
Detlev
Hey Chaba
Make sure there is an account name which is identical on the both servers with the same password and then when protecting the machine via a push install just put the "accountname" with no ipaddress or domain name information.

Hope that helps.
