Windows Security Center says out of Date - Subscribed package for Windows showing as 4.53E

Please help,

All of our Windows PCs are reporting that Sophos is out of date.

When I go to look at the package that I am subscribed to in the Enterprise Manager it states

Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows v7.6.20 VDL4.54E

But the Threat Detection Data version shows up as 4.53E

How do I correct this?

When I look at the new packages after doing an update, this is the only one available. Although there is a correct one (with 4.54) that is IDEs only!

  • Hello DanWeb,

    at first I thought this should be simple. But even after the third time reading I'm not sure I fully understand what you see.

    So you are using SEC 3.1 (probably) and EM Library 1.3.2? You noticed that WSC claims that SAV is out of date. What does SEC say about the clients (tab Anti-Virus Details)? Column Up to date probably says Not since ... and Anti-virus version is 7.6.20 VDL4.54E and Detection data 4.53E? Or ...?

    When I look at the new packages after doing an update, this is the only one available.

    Doing an update - where? Sounds like you're talking about EM here - which package(s) have you subscribed to? Usually the IDEs only type is listed under Unsubscribed (or contained in All).

    Sorry if I'm dense but I see that I'm no longer as familiar with EM as I have been.

  • Hi Christian,

    I shall try and make myself clearer and answer some of your queries;

    EM Version = 1.3.2

    SEC = 3.1

    The Enterprise console reports that no clients are out of date. (i.e all say Yes)

    When I attempt to select packages from the EM Library, the library Fetches the List from the Parent, then checks for New and Updated Packages. Then after a while presents me with a huge list of packages to subscribe to.

    The problem is that I want one for Windows XP that is using 4.54 - The title of the package states that it is 4.54, but under the column Threat Detection Data - it states 4.53E.

    And therefore this is the reason I am assuming that Widnows Security Center reports that we are all out of date?

    I hope this is a little clearer?

  • Incidentally

    If we look at the clients the SAV says "Last Updated 1/6/2010"

    And the product version is 7.6.19

  • FIXED!!

    It appears that the package wasn't updating itself automatically. We were able to get it to update by clicking the Download Packages button on the EM Library page of the Enterprise Manager.

  • Thanks for the details.

    Usually if you are subscribed to the "latest" package you shouldn't need a new subscription as it is automagically set to the latest version. So once again - which package are you currently subscribed to? And which parent website(s) are configured for Select parent? Finally - any warnings in the Message Log?
