Hello,
I have made a VMWare Template on which I have installed Sophos EndPoint Security.
After that, i've created a VM from this Template and I can see this server in Sophos Central.
But the 2 Servers I've created after that (from the same Template), are not visible in Sophos Central.
Our support partner tells me that there is some Unique ID in the machine that is now in use by Machine 1, and therefor Machine 2 & 3 are not visible because they use the same ID.
Now I wonder; is there a simple way to reset, or wipe this ID so that both the machines get a new ID?
For the information (and for the challenge ;-) );
Both servers are production machines which are in use in a live environment, so I cant just reboot the machines...
Hopefully someone has some ideas...
Regards!
Chris.
Hello Chris,
sounds like you weren't aware of How to install Sophos Central Endpoint on a gold image avoiding duplicate identities. I have no experience with Central or MCS but I think you can use the same steps to re-register the duplicates. I've found no applicable article though for MCS, there's one for SEC and RMS which stores certificates in the registry that also must be deleted - but MCS might use a different approach. Maybe someone else can confirm this will work (no reboot, just a stop/start of MCS - contrary to RMS the How to doesn't mention Agent and AutoUpdate).
