Download failed sdds3.WindowsCloudServerAV_1.3.95.273bb7fbb9.dat desde el servidor https://sdds3.sophosupd.com.

Hello everyone

I was in my administration console and I noticed that on a server I get the following message: Downloading sdds3.WindowsCloudServerAV_1.3.95.273bb7fbb9.dat from server https://sdds3.sophosupd.com failed.

So far I have not found the answer or the cause that is generating this problem, can someone help me?

  • Hello, ,

We appreciate your reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

    • The error message you're seeing indicates that the server was unable to download an update file (sdds3.WindowsCloudServerAV_1.3.95.273bb7fbb9.dat) from the Sophos update server (https://sdds3.sophosupd.com). This file is likely an update for Sophos Endpoint Protection on your server.
    • When setting up your firewall or proxy to allow specific domains and ports, you must ensure traffic from Sophos Central Admin and other essential operations can pass through. This is crucial for managing and protecting your devices effectively. Some domains you need to allow are owned by Sophos Central Admin, while others are required for critical operations like verifying installations and certificates. The domains and ports you need to allow vary depending on the products you’re using, such as Intercept X, XDR, MDR, and Sophos AD Sync. By configuring your firewall or proxy to permit these domains and ports, you enable seamless communication for threat protection products and user management within Sophos Central.
    • Please refer to this article for more information on the required domain and ports allowed in your environment:

Let me know if you still need any further help.

    • May I ask what operating system is installed and what licenses are currently applied in Sophos Central?

In one case, it was found that an extended support license was necessary to continue protecting Server 2012 R2 devices, which resulted in this error.

      • The servers are on Windows Server 2012 R2 and I'm starting to think it's due to this Sophos end of support issue unless we purchase the extended support license.
