Monitoring Software and Keyloggers When Using Remote Desktop Connection

Hi,

Is there a way to monitor an employees activity on a laptop and continue to track activities taken place on a remote server? I am specifically concerned about Microsoft Remote Desktop.

Once a user logs using Microsoft Remote Desktop, they are technically using a remote computer to browse the internet. I have a few question regarding this.

1-) The HTML pages and images are clearly taking place on the remote server inside Microsoft Remote Desktop. Does any of these HTML pages/images get stored in the local machine in which Microsoft Remote Desktop is running?

2-) Will monitoring software installed on the local machine to track website visits be able to track the websites visited inside Microsoft Remote Desktop?

3-) Will the keylogger installed on the local machine be able to track the keystrokes taking place once the Microsoft Remote Desktop is being used?

Many thanks,

Mike

  • Hello Mike,

Thank you for reaching us, what Sophos application are you currently using? Based on your statement what I'm seeing here to best suit your requirements is to use screen recording that will capture your employee's screen including the RDP session. If You have a Sophos endpoint on your system, the keylogger will be detected as malicious software and will be deleted.
