Mac slows down at Start Up after installation of Sophos Antivirus

Noticed a definite slow down in Start Up of my MAC after installation of Sophos Antivirus.  Is a startup slowdown time to be expected after installation of Sophos antivirus?  Or, should I uninstall then re-install Sophos software.  Any suggestions or recommendations for a possible fix?  Thanks.  drlou

    I recently installed sophos on my MacBppk pro and have noticed a significant slow down on loading applications accessing the internet and reading emails. I am considering un-installing it unless they are any updates te reslove these issues?
