Switch Default Lan Port

Is there any way to change the default LAN port? I have a VM with two vNICs and the Sophos XG keeps wanting me to set it up on vNIC 1 which I can't and I want to Switch it to vNIC 2 where I can create a static IP address and configure it.

Is this possible? even during Install? I remember the Sophos UTM would let you pick the vNIC?

Hi,

when you did the install will depend on what cables are are connected for the installation process to offer you NICs. During install the internal address will be 172.16.16.16 and the external address will depend on what the XG is connected to?

  Also you could easily login via VM console, password is admin / admin, check via advanced console (Option 5 - Option 3) the MACs on both interfaces.
  
  ifconfig should show you the actual MAC addresses.
  
  Then you can map the configuration properly in vmware.
  
  Be careful, i would recommend, always start up the XG with the right numbers of interfaces (for example, you want to work with 5 Interfaces, then configure in the start up process 5 Interfaces in XG). Just to avoid a interfaces mixing later.
