Blocking of Senders in PureMessage on Unix doesn't work

I'm using Lotus Domino 8.5.1 as an email program together with PureMessage but I can't make the block of senders option work for end users.

  • specifically i can't make the block sender function in the END USER WEB INTERFACE work, even though i added email addresses in the block sender list, it won't block the messages sent by the blocked senders.

  • How many servers are you running?

    Did you modify the default policy?  Is there still a section marked "Quarantine mail from blacklisted hosts and senders" referring to a list called blacklisted-senders-per-user?

    Does the directory /opt/pmx/etc/blacklisted-senders-per-user have entries in it?  Do the same entries exists on every server in your configuration?

    Unfortunately there are several points of failure with this particular issue.

  • one server for the PureMessage and also another server for the Lotus Domino.

    the policy is already modified, and yes, there is still a section for blacklisted-senders-per-user in the policy.

    when i'm trying to test it, i entered email addresses on the blocked senders entries from the EUWI, and it shows in the server configuration.

    but still when sending email from the blocked senders, the emails are not blocked.

  • Can you please post the message_log entry of your test message.

    Can you also provide the output of the following command:

    $ pmx-policy inject --verbose /opt/pmx/etc/data/samples/normal/legitimate  --relay=external --from BLOCKED@SENDER.com
