Hi, the wifi issue we have since 9.703 is not solved since i installed 9.704+9.705 on around 160 UTMs this week.
Every 2 minutes all APs lose the connection and stop broadcasting, restart, etc
The UTM wireless logs shows: wifi_pdog.sh: One of the WiFi interface found down
No spaces in the SSIDs...
The issue seems to appear only on the "old" AP series, not the APX...
I had the same issue. We have two Wi-Fis one is Company-Internal and the other is Company-Gäste. After removing the "-" and the "ä" so far everything seems stable.
Not all of our installations are having this issue. The UTM firmware is 9.705 but only some have this issue... all of them use AP55, AP55C or AP100X
Killing the wifi_pdog.sh via ssh+awetool temporarily solves the issue
Hoi Michael and welcome to the UTM Community!
I've only seen one other person talking about this with 9.705 - what does Sophos Support have to say?
Cheers - Bob
Hello Michael,
Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!
It seems you might be affected by NAF-18, but this should have been fixed on MR4.
If you have a Case ID please share it with me so I can follow up if not please open a case with Support and send me the Case ID.
Regards,
Thanks, removing the ä ü ö and spaces etc did solve the issue. The sign - was not a problem.
But unfortunatly this is not an option for all our clients. The SSIDs are on a lot of signs, etc. And a lot of unattended devices are configured with these SSIDs.
Please fix the root cause of this....
Spaces in the SSIDs don't seems to be an issue since the 9.704+9.705
I realy came down to ä ü ö etc still beeing a problem

Thank you for the Case ID, sorry I forgot to update you yesterday, but I see the Engineer has already escalated the case, I also found that another case with very similar symptoms is being investigated under NUTM-12287.
just read this and thought that this is the same issue I was having with my (2x)AP55, I have now transferred them over to Central, and have had no issues since, I was using 9.705 when I transferred to Central (I did not log a ticket with Sophos Support, as it would have taken too long to identify the issue and then fix the problem, so I took the easy route).
XG & UTM Architect (Systems: XG v18 & UTM 9.7 - Virtual, HW & SW)Curious enough to take it apart, skilled enough to put it back together, Clever enough to hide the extra parts when I'm Done!
Hello All,
Anybody being affected by this, please open a case with Support and mention you are being affected by NUTM-12287 and share the Case ID with me.
The workaround is not to use the umlaut on the SSID name as mentioned in this thread.
