Bulk messages in smtp spool

hello,

I have noticed that all the email are coming delayed.I found out that I have about 600.000+ mails waiting in my SMTP Spool,Including valid emails.
With that i tried to delete all mails older than 3 days in global cleanup action and return me an error of "Request failed five times in a row" meaning failed.

Can it be solve via ssh and delete this files? Where is  this folder? i only want to delete 3 days older because some of the waiting email is not spam,can someone there show me the steps to accomplish these.

Please help !!!!

  • This issue has been discussed here before, so you might want to search for them.

    The first thing to do is to find out why that's happening.  What do you see in the SMTP log file at the time one valid email is quarantined?  One guess would be that you're using a defunct RBL and are quarantining instead of rejecting spam.

    It sounds like the ASG can't delete that many messages at once.  Have you tried deleting everything older than a month, and then everything older than two weeks?

    You may need to force delivery of the emails you want to keep first.  After that, unless you have logfiles and reports you want to keep, your best bet will be to do a factory reset.  Don't forget to download several unencrypted backups first.  After the reset, put the most-recent backup on a USB memory stick and reboot the ASG - it will restore the configuration.

    i am also facing same issue.i don't want to try restore factory settings.

    if someone know about the solution to stop the unwanted mails please let me know.first thing is this i am unable to delete all the emails from web admin its showing error.

    if i deleted from SSH again its coming like 20000 mail in 5  minutes only....

    waiting for solution.

    these emails are unnecessary i don't know from where its coming while its not connected to any network (Currently only one system connected for webadmin without internet).

  • Is pharma.ca your domain?  If not, it looks like you have a mis-configuration in your UTM's SMTP Proxy.  Why are the original spams accepted for delivery to your server?

    it's not my domain.i checked again for configuration and it looking good. i am also surprised why original spams accepted for delivery.

    PS You're using a version that I don't think is still supported.  If the computer you're running on has 4GB of RAM, you should consider Up2Dating to 9.405.

  • Apparently, you don't have a mail server, so you can just disable the SMTP Proxy.

    i disabled the smtp proxy after that also there is no response,mails in smtp spool is increasing like anything (i.e. 500 Mails in few seconds).

    please suggest me that how can i stop this coz i m very disappointed with this issue.
