Install problems: UTM 9.4 on Mintbox 2

Hi,

I'm trying to install UTM 9.4 Home on a Mintbox 2. http://www.fit-pc.com/web/products/mintbox/mintbox-specifications/

It has the standard config except I've replaced the HDD with a brand new Kingston 128GB SSD.

I'm trying to install from a USB-stick, and I've tried to follow these instructions to the dot: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/hardware-installation-up2date-licensing/27887/usb-stick-install-solved

The installation goes on for a while but fails with without a specific error message. It just says 'installation failure' and gives the option to write a log file to the USB-drive, which I have done.

Please see install.zip that I wrote to the memory-stick when the installation failed. This is apparently a file that could contain vital info and is an option that you choose to perform when the installation fails.

install.zip

So, I need some help to overcome this, please :-)

  • Clue, might be ethernet card, I can only see one on one box. The specifications didn't show network connectivity. The site is very slow. You will need two NICs minimum, not USB connected.

  • Wrong answer, had to switch to the UTM link to get full access to the site. The box has 2 NICs. Does the box support the HPT timer?

The XG insisted that the site had a coding problem and would not download the pages.

  • I'm not sure about the HPET timer, but the hardware is fairly modern. You can read about it on the link in my original post. The box has two built-in NICs, one Intel and one Realtek. I did not have a network cable attached in any of them during the install attempt.
