Hi,

I updated a system to v9.308, that made my SSO work again, without doing anything else.

But now I have another problem. For me it seems, that I can´t use range objects in dhe Proxy "Allowed-Networks" anymore. In V 9.2 it still worked, but now I noticed this by accident. Im using a range object in another Network group Object and now I cannot apply the configuration anymore. Screenshot attached. Is that a feature? Why has this been changed?


I expect sth. like a litte information before installation, something like installation notices or instructions, so that I´m prepared for such changes!

I am confident it will get better, remember when Windows was 95, 98 and then ME, it got worse and worse, then MS made it better, (hmm forget Vista), and 7 and 8.1 are much more reliable, Sophos UTMs are in the 'ME' and 'Vista' stage, from here they can only improve!

Sebastian, I recommend against using Range definitions.  They are a recent (less than three years) addition, and more likely to cause problems in any new version.

I'm hopeful that the experience of the last ten months will have taught Sophos upper management something.  It's optimistic to note that they finally moved a bunch of the developers back onto the current versions to squash some of the bugs created during the feverish responses to Heartbleed, Shellshock and POODLE.

If I would have known that, I´d never created such a setup with ranges. Today the support told me this problems are just in relation of usage in the webproxy module and are not supported. haha... in 9.2 I started using this objects like other objects. Webadmin didn´t told me not to do it. I think that´s not documented anywhere....

Yes I also hope, that they will change their priorization from implementing more and more new features to stabilize the current code....

    This keeps getting better, customer threw a UTM120 in my head today (ouch!) replaced with Cisco, they where tired of the bugs, new and old. Sophos UTM is out for good there now [:(]  Sent from my iPhone using Astaro.org
