I opened up a feature request, hope it helps! (To encourage Sophos to have more reliable updates).

I am confident it will get better, remember when Windows was 95, 98 and then ME, it got worse and worse, then MS made it better, (hmm forget Vista), and 7 and 8.1 are much more reliable, Sophos UTMs are in the 'ME' and 'Vista' stage, from here they can only improve!
