Sophos Firewall Home Licence with AP6 - Central needed or also locally managed

Question

Hello I have a home licence for the Sophos XG Firewall. 
 Is it mandatory to subscribe to Sophos Central to configure AP6? Can I do it locally (only 1 AP6) 
 On the Firewall I do not see the AP6 (green light flashes though). Do I also need to have firewall rule to see the AP?

 maybe this is a misunderstanding at your side, Dagoxx: The term "APX" is not a placeholder for "AP1", "AP2", "AP3" and so on until you have "AP6". 
 AP6 is a complete different model from the APX-series. APX is the older series, AP6 are the new ones. 
 You simply CANNOT "see" or ""manage" the AP6 models from the integrated firewall wireless management. That's it! 
 You can configure them manually from their own Web-GUI or with Sophos Central as you already know.

Hello Dagoxx , yes, sophos firewall is free for home use. And you can continue using central management after trial expries. All other central features need a paid license. So AP6 does as well (after trial). Your AP6 will never show up in firewall webadmin - that's simply not supported. Add your AP6 to your network, use network scan too find its IP using DHCP, configure AP using its own webadmin standalone (without connection to firewall).

Sophos AP6 is only supported in Central, not the firewall. 
 For Central Management, you need a license (AP6 Support). 
 You can use the AP6 without a license with its local management.

Hello, 
 you need to have a working DHCP-Server on the network, where you plug in the AP6. Otherwise it won't get an IP from your LAN-range and will use 192.168.2.2 /24 as its default network ip. You can put a pc or laptop in that network to configure the AP6 in a first step, of course.

Hello Dagoxx , you can assign SSID and PW on local webadmin of accesspoint itself. There is no integration with FW at all.
