can't access 172.16.16.16:4444 on XG Firewall Home Edition

I've setup everything to the point where I"m trying to access the "router" via 172.16.16.16:4444 on XG Firewall Home Edition.  No browser on Windows, Mac or linux can access it.  "Connection was reset" is the gist of most messages.  On the Linux laptop,  I can access the internet though.  Others not.

I connected and monitor and keyboard to the HP hosting the XG Firewall and was able to access and make changes to the "bios".  I configured the email, serial number and so on there, but still no access.  Reset XG bios to Factory default.  Still no access.

Modem  >  XG on an HP computer (in via built-in LAN plug,  out via PCI Express LAN Card)     >    computer

Where do I go from here?

  • Hi David,

The first thing is to connect to console and go to option 4. Type command  and ping to your LAN address assigned to the PORT A.

    tcpdump 'host <LANIP>

Check if the packets are received by the firewall. If so we can proceed from there otherwise you would need to check the connection.
