Passcode restrictions for iOS?

I have pushed out a standard password profile to our iOS devices, but when the user goes to create\change the password they recieve the following error "The passcode must not have repeating characters."

I have not set this repeating rule up in the policy, so I am unsure where it is picking it up from? Has anyone got any ideas on how to remove it?

Thanks

  • Hi MrS,

by default you can always specify a simple passcode like "1111".

However, you also have the "Simple Passcode" setting on an iOS device itself. As long as that setting is activated you can use simple values. Deactivate it and you can still specify a four digit number as passcode but the simple values are not allowed anymore.

The setting can be found in "Settings | Passcode" on the iOS device and is called "Simple Passcode".
