Email Push SOPHOS MDM

I have created a Task Bundle that is equipped with a Bootstrap the IOS MDM Client and Install an IOS Profile.  My end game here is to push out our Company email (Outlook) to users with as little effort on their end as possible. Right now the only way I can get the users email profile to install correctly is by the user going through the self portal process(which when I did screenshots of every time the user had to click someting it took up 5 pages).  We need some way to have users click a few times and boom they have the email on their phone and we have them managed.  Any thoughts on this and how it can work? Does Sophos even have this capability or do we need to look into Mobile Iron /Airwatch?

Under Profiles we have one created with  Exchange ActiveSync      %_EMAILADDRESS_%         ouremail, %_EMAILADDRESS_%, SSL

The install an IOS profile have that profile with it

  • We have our iOS devices set up so when they enrol to SMC the corporate email account is added by default. We do this so that if they want corporate email they have to register to the MDM, no MDM no mobile email.

However our process is that staff enrol their devices themselves via the self service portal (which as you point out can be quite a few clicks to complete) and I'm not aware of an easier way for them unless your IT department is manually adding devices and pushing out the iOS profile with the exchange task bundled in that way.

We have limited IT resources so have staff do it via the SSP. Would be interested too if there's an easier way for staff without it being labour intensive for IT/admin.....

  • Hi All,

right now, there is no other registration possibility available.

With the release of Sophos Mobile Control 5.0 the enrollment process will change and be more straight forward for the users as well.

Then they simply have to install the app and afterwards scan a QR code or click on a link to get all configurations.

However on iOS devices, the user still has to confirm the installation of the mdm enrollment profile.

SMC 5 is currently scheduled for end march.

    Best regards

    Stefan

  • Hi, I too have the same issue - we originally enrolled every device manually before distributing to users but over time several iPads have been reset and lost everything

the only way round this currently is to log into SSP and run reconfiguration task unless i am missing something?

SMC 5.0 sounds like it may have some answers - any update on release dates or where i can look at release notes?

(IOS App was updated today on App Store so presumably the SMC release must follow soon?)

    Thanks,
