webdav in sophos workspace

Hi all

First off Happy sysadmin day !!!

im hoping someone can help me, im tring to set up webdav to use with Sophos Workspace so we can get documents on the move. Does anyone have a set up guide?

I've set up a IIS 7.5 server and have basic authenication. it is useing Http through 8080 and i can access it from my PC but when i enter the setting into the the profile on SMC or try and set up manually on my phone it will not connect.

Am i doing this the easiest/ most effective way?

I spent most of yesterday hitting a brick wall and really need this working for a demonstration next week.

    Hi Pete,

    happy sysadmin day to you as well :smileyhappy:

    For the IIS setup, there is a nice page which explains how to set this up, which can be found here:

    For the SMC side, you have to use the whole URL / path as the servername, e.g. http://webdav.company.com/departmenet/username:8080

    Furthermore, if you try to use HTTPS, make sure the SSL certificate used for the webdav URL is not a wildcard certificate as this might cause issues when trying to connect with WebDav.

    In general, if you also use Sophos Mobile Control 5.0, you can use the "Documents" section to upload documents there and publish them to the "Corporate" section of Sophos Secure Workspace.

    at the moment im only testing internally and have phone connected to the office wifi. im entering http://servername:8080 which works for the computers but not the phone through SMC.

    is there no documentation on this from sophos? if im honest im finding documentation hard to come by once you have the basic install and a lot of it has been self tought through trial and error.

    I have been trying to set this up as well. After days of pulling my hair out with the local supplier then being escalated through SOPHOS I found that you cannot push WebDAV settings from SMC to Secure Workspace on a tablet. If you don't manage the app and configure it manually on the device it will save the settings and work. I would love to be proved wrong on this one but that's my experience. Apparently a patch is coming.

    Hi All,

    if we are talking about Android devices, there is currently an issue if you leave the "Password" field empty in the profile configuration. In that case the WebDav configuration won't be applied at all on the Android device.

    This behavior should be fixed with Sophos Secure Workspace 6 coming soon.
