Increase frequency of checks/information from android devices

Hi,

I have set my compliance reports to advise if any units have been of for more than 6 hours and I seem to be getting nearly all my devices reporting that.. Weird since the one I am currently using and connected to the internet is one of them.

Is there a setting that will work to force the device to respond more often?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Jason,

the compliance check is always based on the information currently available within the SMC database.

By default, SMC Android clients and iOS devices synchronize every 24 hours.

Therefore, if you configured you compliance rules to require a sync every 6 hours, several devices might become non-compliant, as the compliance check is (by default) done every 4 hours.

To change the sync interval for Android and iOS devices please have a look at our KBA 118792.

If the Android devices are online they will connect to the SMC server according to the defined interval.

iOS devices will be triggered by the SMC server to perform a sync.

Please be aware that a data connection is established every time the device synchronizes.

    Best regards

    Stefan
