setup profile for android

Since there was no real answer to the last thread;

/search?q= 18979

I would like to ask the question again, how do you create profiles or deploy settings such as active sync/wifi/ ect (like on ios) to an Android device?

Cheers

  • Hi MacGyver,

    my original answer was from September 2012 where Sophos Mobile Control 2.5 was the current version.

    With Sophos Mobile Control 2.5 it was not possible to deploy W-LAN settings to Android devices.

    Since Sophos Mobile Control 3.0 we support the Samsung SAFE API which enables us to define more settings on Samsung devices.
    However, the devices must be able to support the Samsung SAFE API. All devices which are SAFE compatibel require the Sophos Mobile Control SAFE Plugin to correctly handle these settings. The SMC client will automatically detect that this plugin has to be installed and asks the user to do so.
    Unfortunately, not all Samsung devices are able to use the SAFE API. SAFE devices are e.g. S3, S4, Note 2 or Note 10.1.

    Other devices like the S3 mini or the S2 might work as well but with limited functionality.

    Best regards

    Stefan
