Starting webclip in Kiosk-Mode?

Hi there,

I want to start a webclip in kiosk-mode. Reason: Ich want to have an URL in fullscreen. In our case it's the HTML5-Receiver (Citrix) to connect to our Store Front Server. I can start Safari in Kiosk-Mode but right now I don't see a way to start Safari in fullscreen-mode.

Any ideas?

Cheers

  • Well, I would have a solution for that, 42gears shows us how to do it but here I need the help of Sophos: What I need is a MDM-configurable wrapper app like frameless (iOS-Appstore), it's a browser without any navigation bar or anything. 42gears has released Surefox Kiosk Browser but there are some disturbing arrows. I think that their browser can be configured by their MDM-Solution and that's what I need from Sophos. That should be a minimal work to realize it, you can use the safari engine, I need to publish this browser and it must be possible to configure a start-page via the Sophos Mobile Device Control. That could be one more really needed feature of Sophos Mobile Device Control. The own Kiosk Solution.

    my 2 cents

  • HI Detlef,

You can create a profile with a webclip. It had the following fields:

    Description*
    URL*

    Can be removed
    5.0+

    Full screen
    5.0+

If you select "Fullscreen" it should be sufficient.

Or maybe I missed a part of your request, which is not covered by this.

  • Hi,

yes, I can create a webclip with SMC and that can be started by hand in full screen mode. The problem is that I want to use the kiosk-mode with this webclip but I cannot choose that webclip as Kiosk-mode-app. There's the missing link.
