SMC 3.61.3, iOS and imap-Configuration

Hi there,

we started using SMC in our testenvironment and as far as I could see on the feature-list it supports imap- and pop-configuration. But the only mail-configuration I can see in the menu is for eas. So can anyone please tell me how to configure an imap-profile? Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Detlef,

within SMC itself, you cannot configure email accounts for IMAP / POP..

Only ActiveSync accounts can be configured as a profile in the SMC web console.

However, you can create a mail profile using the iPhone Configuration Utility available for download from Apple.

You can also use the placeholders %_USERNAME_% or %_EMAILADDRESS_% in that profile.

Once you have created it, you can export it (do not sign or encrypted it) and upload it to the SMC web console.

To import a profile click on "Apple iOS" in the "Profiles" section and then press the "Import" button.

However, the profile cannot be edited in the SMC console.

If you want to have the Pop3 / IMAP section configurable in the SMC web console, you can raise a feature request here.

    Best regards

    Stefan
