phone restart problem

Hi all,

We are running SMC 4.0.3.3 and experiencing issues on few Android phones. All of the sudden they tend to restart few times per week or even few times per day without any reason.

I wouldn't say that this is the device issue since it started to happen on three or four devices until now.

All the devices are connected to the SMC and I haven't been able to find any setting that could make them restart.

Any suggestions what to check further?

Regards

Nikola

  • Hi Nikola,

Neither Sophos Mobile Control nor Sophos Mobile Security have the option to restart the device automatically.

Looking at the Android Permission manisfest description, the "REBOOT" command is reserved for the Android system and cannot be used by an app.

Required to be able to reboot the device.

Not for use by third-party applications.

    Constant Value: "android.permission.REBOOT"

So it seems as if there is something else on the device causing the reboots.
    Are they perhaps rooted?

    Best regards
