Adding devices to Mobile Control Error

I am trying to add devices to the mobile control, but am receving "The server license does not allow more devices. Please contact your administrator". Having had a look round it seems that my license.sql could be the issue. But I am not sure how to resolve the issue??

  • New information, having done some more digging and configuring the email settings properly.

    I am getting this email:

Error report created at: Thu Sep 27 16:23:10 BST 2012

    Sync URL:                smc.habsgirls.org.uk:80/servlets/OmaDsServlet

    Sync URL SSL:            smc.habsgirls.org.uk:443/servlets/OmaDsServlet

    Message:

    Your license has expired.

Is this talking about the license.sql file and if so how to remedy this??

  • We are having the same problem right now.

What we think it is: the license.sql came with the wrong URL ( some test-Url from Sophos). We changed it, but probably the Hash codes will no longer match the content.

    On monday we will know....

  • Did this get resolved? I'm having the same issue and I believe it is the same root cause...

  • Hi Rob,

on the Dasboard page just above the device status table, license information is shown. On my account it looks like this:

    Registered devices:7Licensed devices:20License valid until:unlimited

Read this, that 7 out of your total license of 20 are used. 13 additional devices can be added. If you have 20 devices registered, you cannot add any further devices.

Of your license has an end date, and has expired, you can also no longer add devices to the system.

If your existing devices can sync with the server (sync within the app and check for last sync date in the device list), the URL is correct. Unless you rename the server or proxy, the URL is fine if you every have been able to register one device properly

    Best regards,

    Thomas

  • ** Update **

Got it sorted. I needed to send my license file to Sophos to update the file with the new URL.
When I got it back, I followed KB Article:

    http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/114260.html

    and all was working again.

    Great work Sophos Team!
