iOS 9.2 devices don't sync anymore

we updated some devices to iOS 9.2. Now the devices don't sync anymore. The SMC app (5.1.2.4 and 6.0.0.10) syncs, but reports the last status (before iOS update). A SMC server triggered sync for the devices itself fails. Last sync timestamp is still before iOS update. The server is running on 5.1.7, which is the latest version, as far as I know.

Now we have the situation, that a device which was not compliant before update stays not compliant and a device which was compliant before update stays compliant.

Is this a known issue?

    we've got the same problems ( server is 5.1.7 ). Tasks will be sent to devices, but it seems that server never gets back an answer.

    this issue is not reproducible on our test devices.
    Are your devices perhaps supervised?

    I suggest you raise a support request and if possible provide an iOS device log generated via Xcode and a set of SMC server logs.

    we have similar problems. Since my update to iOS firmware version 9.2 i couldn't receive status updates (app list, battery level, and so on) and if i sending some orders like locking the device or a text message i didn't receive it any way.

    Server version 5.0.8
    iOS Device firmware 9.2

    it seems as if this is a general issue within iOS when updating to iOS 9.2.
    We are currently looking into the topic but it seems as if this is not a Sophos related issue as other MDM vendors are experiencing the issue as well.

    At the moment it is not recommended to update to iOS 9.2.
    To get the devices which have already updated working again, the devices have to be re-enrolled.

    Apple has released iOS 9.2.1 yesterday which should fix the MDM Sync issues.
