Setting device lock period for specific number of failed login attempts.

Hello,

We have been asked by an auditing company to make some changes to our mobile device password policy.

These required changes include setting the following:

  • If the passcode to unlock a phone/tablet is typed in wrong 5 times, the device will stay in a locked state for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes the user can try and unlock the device again.  This will continue to lock out if the passcode is incorrect every 5th time.

With the options available in Sophos Cloud, I cannot see where, or how I could implement these changes.

As yet there is no requirement to wipe the device after a certain number of failed attempts.

Thanks in advance to all who can offer advice.

  • the info you pasted about locking the devices for so many minutes after so many failed pin attempts, isn't that an apple feature?

i believe below isnt possible. you can only wipe the device after incorrectly inputting the pin.

iphone is disabled try again in x minutes is an apple feature and cannot be manipulated by mdm.
