Can I replicate the SVE to a backup host? (Hyper-V)

Hi,

Just setting this up as I am migrating from standalone to virtual environment on 2016 Hyper-V. I've got the SVE in place and have installed and tested the agent on a guest machine.

Now I want to replicate the SVE to my standby host.

Is this supported?

Thanks

Sean

  • Hello

The replication of an SVM works if the SVM is totally replicated. Meaning that when the machine is copied it keeps the same network MAC address and IP address. In this scenario the GVMs previously installed against this SVM will continue to work with it

Note that it’s assumed that the standby host has the same network connectivity settings as the running host – hence allowing the GVM to connect to it.

    Thanks
