Sophos update error 0000006a

Hello!

Did anyone noticed in their SEC computers with these errors?

Solution for this error is to disable Enh Tamp Protection in policy, but this should not be handled this way.

Best regards

  • Hi

For the above error, it can see that this is caused by Enhanced tamper protection, which is part of Sophos endpoint defense

The Sophos Endpoint Defense must be turned off in the following situations:

    • Before Sophos, Anti-Virus was downgraded to an older version.
    • If the operating system needs to be upgraded.
    • A managed computer needs to be re-protected from the Sophos Enterprise Console. If SED is turned on, it’ll result in an error. 0x00000082: The installation could not be started.
    • If a restore point needs to be used via a System Restore point on a Windows device.

Could you confirm if there has been any change made on this device that is being stated? If so? Then please turn off tamper protection first before proceeding with activity on the system to avoid this error.
