Left company a year ago, need to remove corp sophos so I can install sophos for home

I left a company a year ago, and purchased my work computer... At the time, I did not remove Sophos endpoint.     As I was playing around on my computer (MacBook Pro) today, I saw the sophos icon in the menu, clicked on it, and noticed it is still attempting to connect back to the corporate server from a year ago.

So, in my infinite wisdom, I used "Clean My Mac" to uninstall sophos... then went to sophos.com to download the Home version... set up a personal account, downloaded the software, set it to install and BAM!  fail.  "An incompatible product is installed.  This software cannot be installed over the exisiting installation...."

So, now I am sitting here without the Endpoint Edition fully installed (and since I don't work for that company anymore, I really shouldn't be useing the endpoint edition!), and unable to install the home edition.  I have no idea what the tamper protection password would be (they would have changed it by now anyway).

Help??  :)

Thanks!

-Mike

  • Sweet!  That totally did the trick.  Thanks for pointing that out.  Apparently, my search parameters/ability on the support site were lacking... :-/

I am up and running with the home version fully function.

    THANK YOU!!
