Sophos Enterprise Console upgrade help!

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help, I've been Googling for a while now but not found the help I need!

A server I look after has Sophos Enterprise Console 5.1.0 installed and I've tried to update it to 5.5.0 but get the following "Encryption is installed. Please migrate all computers and uninstall before continuing." Please could someone provide a guide on how I can complete this safely without breaking it!

Thanks

Lance

  • Hello Lance,

first of all, is SDE (Encryption) actually installed on some of your endpoints? If so, you have first to uninstall it (which would automatically also decrypt the volumes on your endpoints).
Once all your endpoints are decrypted SEC's Encryption component must be removed (if you no longer have the \sec_51 installation directory or the sec_51_sfx.exe you can download it here).

  • Thank you for your reply.

That's a very good question, I had a look at the enterprise console and there doesnt appear to be any clients encrypted! The server was installed way before we took over support so hopefully it's just a setting enabled in the console. Will i need to migrate everything still or should i be able to continue with the upgrade?

    Thanks
