Exploit prevention - removes Tamper protection.

I've been trailing the Exploit prevention and had some issues with it originally with the rollout.  It seems the best method of roll out is to use the GPO although not ideal.  However there seems to have been a few updates in the last 2 weeks and this is now stabilised to a warning message instead of error message after the install.

One other thing I have noticed though is that once you re-enabled Tamper protection after the install (advised to disable for install) although the tamper protection is seen as active again on the SEC.  On the client itself the 'Configure Tamper Protection' is greyed out which would seem that this is actually still inactive.  Any updates on this please ?

  • Hello Lee Draycott,

    a warning message
that a reboot is required, or?

'Configure Tamper Protection' is greyed out
    when Tamper Protection is enabled.
Authenticate user should be enabled though instead. When TP is not enabled from SEC Configure is active so a local admin can enable it with a chosen password. Once TP is enabled Authenticate user must be used to get access to Configure.
