Sophos Endpoint - I cannot re-install

Hi, I tred to un-install Sophos Endpoint on a users machine as the sophos central

update was failing. It is the cloud based version. The client un-installed stopped halway

through and I had to end the task, this left sophos in an unusable state. I couldn't re-install

either. I backed up the registry and deleted the sophos entries, upon reboot I stopped the services

and deleted the sophos entries in Program filesx86, Program Files and programdata. I work in I.T

so this one has me stumped. I tried a re-install and it fails with this error;

I have searched the regisrty for this key but it is not there, any help would be appreciated.

  • I would suggest running Process Monitor [https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processmonitor.aspx] at the same time if you haven't already.

    I expect you will see a query to the key of interest at around the same time as the line in the log.
