Sophos Pushing Application Control Changes - Breaking Stuff

Last week Adobe Reader DC was blacklisted, this week Apple Mail, Facetime, Console and Terminal have all been blacklisted.  These are not changes I have made (on purpose at least and I don't usually muck around in the settings).  Are these changes that Sophos is pushing to my environment and is there any way to opt out or at least have them ask for approval before disabling applications?

  • Hello Jacob Painter,

SEC managed, Central or perhaps Home?
SEC has a catch-all All added by Sophos in the future application in each category (dunno about the cloud-managed policies), this can be allowed or blocked. It's not Sophos that enforces Application Control or blocks certain applications on its own. Admittedly the catch-all can lead to unwanted blocking or allowing if detection is made more granular - unfortunately even an advance notification won't  help as you can only amend the policy after the new categorization has been rolled out.
