Cancelled Sophos installation because existing third-party security software could not be uninstalled
I have this message against several clients in SEC > computer details
None of the clients have 3rd party security software, they all have (and always have had) Sophos.
The actual message in the SEC window is "failed to uninstall third-party security software [ 0x00000042]"
The only way I have found to rectify this so far, is to manually uninstall all elements of Sophos from the client, restart, and then re-install it. I really, really do not want to have to visit all the client machines that this is a problem on.
I have SEC to centrally manage my clients, or so I thought.
The usual questions:
What version are you using (SESC and SEC) and do you want to deploy? What version is on the clients where the install fails. Are you pushing the install from the console (if so, have you tried unchecking Third-party Security Software Detection?
