More than one account in Enterprise Console possible?

Hi,

we´re thinking about using Sophos as an AV solution in our company. As far as I know, the Enterprise Console needs an account with administrative rights on the target clients. Is it possible to use more than one account in the same console? For example, I have 10 OU´s in my AD and I want to use a different account for installing clients for every OU.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,

Mathis

  • Hi,

When you set up an AD sync point you can choose the following options:

    1. The SEC group to sync with.

    2. The AD container (essentially the LDAP path).

    3. The interval the management service polls AD to check for changes,

    4. The packages to deploy

    5. If you wish to use auto protect and if so the account the management service will use to protect new computers as they appear in AD.

So for each sync point you can use a different account.

You can also manually protect a machine using a wizard in the console where you can type any admin account on the remote client as long as the account can log onto the management server machine also.

The other alternative to deploy is just taking the deployment string an run it from a start-up script, psexec command, etc...
