Enterprise Console - Removing a Policy from Groups

I've done some searching but I was unable to find any documentation on removing a policy from a group.

After installation I had Sophos sync with my AD tree.  After it sync'd the default policies were applied to all groups that were imported.  Do I need to remove all the groups and re-sync with AD or is there a way to remove the default policy from groups?  Is the default policy automagically added to each group?

Any advice would be appriciated.
