Found Mal/Generic-a, Mal/HckPk-D, and Cryptor-3728 on my DOS System

Just downloaded your emergency disk for DOS/W3x - and your virus def files - and, "quick scanning" with Sophos, your software found Mal/Generic-a, Mal/HckPk-D, and Cryptor-3728.

I'll mention that my system is a large MS-DOS 7.10, FAT32 system.  i66Mhz, Pentium MMX.  About 90meg of RAM.  I don't use Windows much ...

I'd like to upgrade.

Could someone direct me to the page where I could purchase an updated DOS scanner (the downloaded software was, I think, from 2008)?  I'm willing to pay - eager to pay - I'm hoping that, altho' I don't download many DOS-based softwares, that those that I *do* download - and those that I have - will be clean.

Thanks.

CDCR20 (CDCF.EXE, CDU.EXE) held "CRYPTOR-3728".

GNUChess.EXE, v4.15, held "MAL/GENERIC-A".

MIRC.EXE (downloaded IRC client - but NOT downloaded from MIRC's home) held "MAL/HCKPK-D".

THANKFULLY, I had not used ANY of these ... and all had been downloaded within the last two years.

Regards.

Mark.

  • Thanks.

I'm a retired Nurse Officer - US Public Health Service, rank of Commander - and now I travel in China, teaching English.

Does this qualify me as a "business"?

IF SO, good.  Let me know where I can purchase Sophos-for-DOS.  AND IF NOT - then tell me where I *can* purchase it.

    Thanks.

    Good product.

    Thanks.
