Point Workstations to new Enterprise Console Server

Searched KBs and Forums and didn't find my answer.....

Sophos Endpoint Security and Control 9.0

Enterprise Console running on the Server.

Our organization is merging our A/V servers into 1.  So I have Sophos installed on workstations.. I just need to point them to the new server.

We're talking about 500 machines on a Domain.

I've been re-protecting them from the new server, completely reinstalling Sophos over top of itself from the Console.

Is there an easier way? A Reg key or ini file that tells Sophos where to get updates from which I could simply update?

Because of the complex subnets and firewalls involved and the coordination it is taking amongst all the departments.. Protecting from the Console is failing roughly 50% of the time.

Where does Sophos store the path to the update server? Can't I just replace an INI or REG key and redirect the clients?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Hello,

Search this forum for mrinit.conf certification manager how to direct the clients to a different management server (it only works if the servers use the same certificates). How to deal with the update location is also mentioned.
