Clear all history for a machine when re-imaged?

Howdy…

We use a naming convention that consists of 3rd octet of the IP, followed by the Dell express service code.  (so my computer is named 009-76ZJZF2)  We’’’’re on a 3 year refresh schedule, so frequently within the lifespan of a computer we’’’’ll have the need to wipe it clean, and put a new image on it.  (so as far as the computer is concerned, it’’’’s brand new)

Question is, how do I completely clear the history for a computer in the console.  If a computer was just imaged, but has exactly the same name as it did before it was imaged, we see all the history for the pre-new-image computer.   What I dislike about this is, if this newly imaged computer pops a virus, we look at it in the console, and see a page full of previous virus history, it may tip us towards…   “GEEZ look at all the junk that has been on this thing…   Image that bad boy, and give it a clean start…”

Thanks

  • Hello,

you can get rid of a computer's history by deleting it from the database (see - usual disclaimers apply). Deleting the computer and its history also means that the data is no longer available for reports.

If you think this functionality should be built into SEC submit a feature request through Support.
