MAC workstation install

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to install the Sophos Endpoint client on two MAC workstations that we have. I have practically NO experience working with MAC OS, and not sure how i should install the client.

Should I just put it on a CD and install it manually? I have already updated my subscription and have downloaded the correct client from Sophos and it's residing on the correct server just sitting there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello Azurus (or should I say, Ben?)

you simply connect to the network share (quite easy from a Mac) and copy the .mpkg to your desktop. Click it and install should start.  IIRC updates are not configured then but RMS is and the client will appear in the console. You can then assign the desired updating policy.

If you have more questions just ask.

  • Thanks, will do it that way then. I didn't know if the MAC would struggle with the UNC path or not. Will it not based on AD and NTFS permissions?

Anyways, I'll give it a shot.
