dcpromo Enterprise Console to be Active Directory domain controller

I want to dcpromo my 4.5 Enterprise Console to be an additional domain controller, but I see that Sophos has defined various local users and groups. Is there any way to migrate those users and groups to be defined at the Active Directory domain level, or do I need to uninstall, then dcpromo, then reinstall the Sophos Enterprise Console?

Thanks,

  • Hello Bruce,

first of all it is not recommended (by MS) to run SQL on a DC. Do you have a remote database or is it local? If the latter you should deal with that first.

Which user(s) and groups do you want to migrate?

  • All databases are local on the Sophos server, which is also my Backup Exec server. Sophos defines the following local users :

SophosSAUlocalHostName0 “used for download of Sophos updates” (where "localHostName" is... you guessed it!)

SophosUpdateMgr “Account for Sophos Update Manger user impersonation and share credentials”

    and the local groups

      Sophos Console Administrators

      Sophos DB Admins

      Sophos Full Administrators

      SophosAdministrator

      SophosOnAccess

      SophosPowerUser

      SophosUser
