I have recently installed Enterprise Console and wanted to try and protect the workstations. This is a non-AD environment. I can scan by IP and find computers on the same subnet as the server but when I try to scan other subnets, the scan does not yield any results. I can put the server on another vlan and then I can find workstations but this is not feasible. I have ran other IP scanning utilities and get results there. Is the Enterprise console scanning @ specific ports? I am running a Cisco Cat 4510R.
One other issue had was once a computer was found on the local subnet, I could not deploy the AV until I could resolve the workstation by computer name. I have verified this by adding a host's IP / computer name to the servers hosts file and I am able to deploy the AV with not issues. Must I be able to resolve the IP by computer name for this to work?
