Spohos Services (Client)

Can anyone confirm this should happen and why.

 I am sure I am not missing something but when I stop all Sophos related services on a Client (set to automatic) they restart approximately after 15 minutes. Is this correct?

    Have you observed them restarting?

    When a service is stopped (whether it's startup type is manual or automatic - this is related to system startup) it must be explicitly restarted. A service can be set to be automatically restarted if it fails - but stopping a service doesn't count as failed. Of course there are programs available for monitoring and if necessary restarting services.

    yes.

    the "culprit" is almon.exe which sits in your system-tray. probably you have set your update

    schedule to 15 minutes.

    from my expirience the service start does only happen if there is a new pattern installed.

    fix: taskkill /f /im almon.exe
